I've a john deere 2140 tractor which I bought a second hand. the tractor didn't had power and emitted lot of smoke, then I took off the injectors for cleaning and resetting. then I reinstall them , the smoke is normal , but I am not getting enough power , when putting foot on pedal it takes long time to respond. so please give an advice what I could do to remedy the problem.

How many hours?
Does it have a LOT of blowby?
Simple things to check:
Fuel filter
Air filter
Throttle linkage; is it opening all the way?
Less simple things:
Burnt valves
Wrong valve clearances
Worn rings/stuck rings
Bad head gasket
Worn cam shaft

I doubt the timing would change unless tampered with/taken apart.

My advice is.......You bought the tractor 2hand ?With this problem ? Then check the pumptiming with that spes tool . It looks like a Y. Narrow legs of the Y over the crank and other leg to the senter of the camgear ....then place the dot under that leg .........do the same with the pumpgear ......now slide your idler gear in ! Timing must now be sorted !
