Tractors in Switzerland

On a warm day on top of the mountains near Jungfrau.
We also got to see them bringing up building supplies by helicopter.

Snow Cats are WAY COOL tools.

With a snow blade on the front, and a tiller on the back, they are ubiquitous "grooming machines" at any ski area.
The local bump I ski must have 10 or more, a couple with cable winches for doing the steeps.

I've been in them in blizzard conditions when the soft snow was flowing back over the upper tracks while making our way up hill. It's call "churning", and NOT a good way to go.

Most ski operations have sophisticated GPS systems that map snow depth etc, as the ski trails are being groomed.

I doubt there is a "crop" that ever sees as much "tilliage" as a busy ski area.

Hundreds of acres "groomed/ tilled" every night , 7 days a week, for as long as the ski area is open.
All for snow sliding!

Check out their taxes there! Especially the "fart" tax they have to pay for each cow!!

Last I heard small SLH tractors were being made in Poland.

If I have it correctly, D-F controls the SL&H offerings now.

No Polish production according to this.

Who knows what may have been even 10 years ago..

I haven't looked up anything on SLH in a long time, so I'm not sure what's going on now.

I now own five SLH tractors, so I am familiar with them.

I think you have the wrong country, no methane tax in Switzerland.

I read about the taxes in Switzerland. I went with the AI answer but I thinks its reasonably accurate. There taxes aren’t significantly higher then the US. Like so many things it depends though.

They also have an extensive public transportation system. Cable cars, trains and buses. It’s very nice but it wasn’t cheap. We bought passes ahead of time but still had to buy a ticker occasionally. For about 12 days I think we spent a little over $2000. We did use it a lot though.
