Another day, another cart of wood to roll in and park beside the stove.

That said, if I were going to run a splitter off my tractor, it'd be closed-loop with a PTO pump. Way faster, as most CUT's can deliver much more HP thru the PTO than thru auxiliary hydraulics. Also keeps the systems segregated and clean.
In addition to GPM, another reason to use a PTO powered pump is the pressure. A compact tractor remote usually generates less than 2000 PSI. Considerably less than a PTO pump or a splitter with it's own engine.

Looks like the snow has gotten deep for you Mr. Gordon.

Does that put a damper on your logging?

Yes sir. Even if the tractor can I can't

Nice day today and I find myself painting radiator covers that we don't even use ??? But they are rusty and have been on the to-do list about 4 years. Been a while since we've had a normal amount of snow like this.

Interesting how there's always something needing done...

I generally stay active every day, but there are some tasks which finding the motivation to just go and do can be the toughest part of the job!

I too have a bit of minor interior touch up painting to do...it's been on the ToDo list for over a year. It's a winter time job...so maybe next winter!

Yep, and my to-do-list has a new entry. Build a 4 cord firewood shed (much) closer to the back porch! I'll still fill the 12' x 12' shed over 100' away, but I hate the thought of shoveling.
That’s a 16x6 shed with your wood stacked 5’. 5” high. If
you have the room, build two so you always have seasoning going on.

No... build six! I have four, all 16 x 6 x 8 high, and a fifth up by my barn... but it's not enough.
