Great. You will get a feel for what will feed easily and what needs a little " saw nipping encouragement".
Another issue is the discharge chute plugging. Engine bogging down, noise, smell and even smoke are signs. And of course no chute discharge. This usually happens for me with small branches and twigs like birch tops if bunches are fed too fast...especially with leaves on. And thorn bushes are worst. These can easily pass the blades whole and when one or two get cross piled in the chute the next ones get caught and jams up. And it happens in seconds. One instant all is well and suddenly it isn't. Shut down immediately. Open and dig out the mess. And it will be packed really hard.
I am impressed with my Woodland Mills chipper. About 200 hrs and not one issue.
More good info, thanks for sharing. I did notice the blade gap was set at 1/4" from the factory, I set it at the low side of their recommendations at 1/16", hopefully that will help with the smaller stuff.

Today wasn't exactly tractor and wood but will be soon to clean the mess down below.

Took three 20 meters tall trees down, about 65 ft. With 30 kV power lines on one side, a building we rent to a mould making company one the other side and plenty other objects all around, there was no good way to fell the tree, so it had to be cut in short pieces.

Started with the branches from the ground up, so I could reach the top and finally took the trees down from the top, with the help of a 65 ft man lift. A brand new one too, with only 11 hours.

I was quoted about €1500 from a guy that does tree climbing so I searched around and spent €240 on the man lift for a day.

Anyway, there is plenty of clean up work for the little Agria and the backhoe to haul all the wood and limbs out for the next days, probably week.

I have the Woodmaxx WM-8H, very close to the Woodland Mills(have that samill-126). Havent had a chance to really use it much, some WP limbs, a mix of hardwood limbs, one mullberry tree, and some birch limbs-green with leaves. So far have only stopped it up twice, just not paying attention and feeding to much either pine needles or birch leaves. And you re right, shut it down fast, on the woodmaxx take the chute off-4 bolts, and the two plates where you change the blades- 4 more bolts, and unclog it. a long prybar and a pair of needle nose pliers help. Not a big deal, but you do have to be patient. I do love the chipper, especially the hydraulic feed. You do have to manage the limb size/angle, but it will eat whatever you can get the feed roller to grab. Usually the 5+" goes to firewood, but the wife really likes the chips. She really doesn't like much of my equipment, but the chipmaker is almost ok.

A wife that does not like your equipment can mean trouble ahead.

My good buddy and stalwart firewood gathering friend is getting hitched at the end of this August. He goes on and on and on about my 500i so:

I decided it was time to get him his own. I think this might look a little strange on the gift table, so I'll put the manual in a nice gift bag and a nice letter and he can pick it up later.

No, that would look AWESOME on the gift table! Definitely wrap it in paper and set it on the table. And take pics :)

Another vote for putting it on the gift table. Just don't fill it with gas and oil.

Good friends like you are hard to find.

Will you be my neighbor?
