That's a rugged looking butt plate on your winch. Did you add that, or perhaps even build the entire unit?

Thanks, yes I built the whole thing. I just posted some pics of it on the BIY forum. The bottom is 3/8" thick and the upper stuff is 11 gauge

Please tell me that you aren't putting that in the firewood pile. From your picture at least, that tree would be more suitable as somebody's flooring or fireplace mantel.

Got a nice load of Red Oak with a little Ash thrown in for good measure
I couldn't do it without the Tractor, winch, grapple and dump bed

They acquire saw logs by the lot, as in say 40acres, and process on their premises. One log would be a hassle.
One more grandchild due in January, so need to get going on another combination crib/full size bedroom set.

We are a timber oriented state, and there are yards where I can haul just one or a few logs in. Hence it always makes me a bit sick when I see a nice sawlog go into the firewood pile.

No the splitter does not tip I plan to make one that goes on the rear 3 point with the splitter upside down just to bust large logs up I seen some for skid steers but I don't own a skid steer so work with what I have.

Yeah I hate burning saw logs my wood is dumped from tree trimmers and the saw mills around so it's all junk already few nice logs here and there. Love slab wood for the summer cut and chuck no splitting

Nice place, good people, full service, extensive inventory. Attached is a picture of they're saw logs, mostly yard trees. They work around the metal. All of it is free drop offs from municipalities. The red oak they bring in from northern Wi, also around the Shawano area north of green bay.
