Dropped and bucked a couple trees today. Got 72 feet of usable wood from them.
Here's a couple pics of my newer mill location. Lord I'm thankful for that telehandler. And the tractor if I really need it
but I'd prefer not to use it in case it breaks. It's been rough handled over the years.

Wayyyy more room than the old spot.

The RV jacks I got yesterday are much bigger than I thought and I was worried they might not fit between the mill frame.
Once I got there i saw they'll be fine. May have to use a ratcheting wrench instead of a socket on a drill. We'll see.
I didn't get that far with it.
More POS chainsaw problems today. Started great until I got to the trees I was cutting down then it was pull, pull, pull, snap!
Recoil cord again.
I threw that F'n saw about 20 feet away.
Then I fixed the recoil cord yet again, and a buddy messed with it till it started (more patience because he didn't see all the other
troubles I had with it.)
If he knew my problem history he would have picked it up and threw it another 20 feet for me.
I wanted to cut a couple more trees down while I had the help but ran out of premix gas for the saw.
I had some regular gas in a can but no 2 stroke oil.

That's a nice bucketful, might of made some nice lumber! Tell us about your range. and welcome, neighbor.
The previous owners had multiple large trees cleared on the property, and the tree company left the logs stacked in three different piles. They're a bit rotted on the outside, but the middles are still solid. I asssumed they were no good, otherwise why would they have been left behind? But now I'm wondering...

Thanks, I'm basically just consolidating the 3 piles into one giant pile for a backstop. Right now it's about 6 feet high by 12 wide by 8 deep. I'm trying to get a little higher, but nearing the limits of my loader lift height. Then I'm going to cut a bunch of stumps as target stands. Nothing fancy but good enough to send some rounds down range.

If you can find enough soil to cover those over it would make one heck of a backstop. Barring that, use care as you can get some pretty good ricochets off wood.

What saw is it?

Let’s see some of the stumps always interested to see how different parts of the world do it.

It's a Homelite 45cc 18in. It was an inexpensive replacement after my Stihl got stolen. I didn't need one much after that
so the Homelite was 1/2 the price and it sat for years at a time.
I can't even find a darn spark plug or replacement plug for it.

I'll snap a couple pics of stumps tomorrow if I remember. Obviously I'm not a pro, and these would be weeds compared to what you cut,
but I'll get some pics anyway.

You’d be amazed at what I hand cut some days it can small in diameter but there’s a few tricks you can pick up or be given that make life easier and faster.

I'm trying to find a replacement saw spark plug right now. Original is apparently obsolete and I have no idea
what the plug numbers mean.
Champion gives about 25 cross reference numbers. I doubt there's 25 plugs all made the same enough to work,
but I did just admit I know nothing about it.
Original is RCJ4
Looks like RCJ6y is a replacement but how is it different?

Anyone help?

Reading as I asked.
Now I know what the numbers mean. Looks like I can use an RCJ6y but it'll be a tad hotter.
Any opinions on using this in the heat of summer? It may be a Homelite saw but I still can't afford to blow it up
by overheating it.

This might help, a quick google search shows the plug still available as well.

This link has the different manufacturers that make that plug with their numbers spark plug cross reference

That's where I was referring to with so many crosses.
It does appear to be available online (but I never shop on-line - I want it now)
It wasn't available at local box store, and the local small engine place said it was discontinued and they didn't have the replacement.
I should have wrote his replacement number down.
I'll search a couple hardware stores around here.
