A skidder is an altogether different animal. As OP says it will only do one thing well, but since it's designed to do that you can beat on it- I mean work it hard, without breaking things as you would on a tractor.

Now he's got me wondering about his blue screen though... the last time that I saw that the computer wouldn't work and it was called "The blue screen of death".

There are varying degrees of blue screens. You can get one, and a restart will fix the issue. Sometimes you need a tech to run a couple quick fix tests and it's back. Then there is the true "blue screen of death". You can hear faint trumpets playing Taps...

No it's not that its that copy and paste blue, the trouble is if I touch the mouse pad just right the whole screen goes blue, the way I like is just left click&hold then use finger to high light the blue I want only for copy&past. My HP laptop is 2 years old, the previous one the screen went all sketchy with yellowish flickering color tones, heard it was due to 10 years of opening and closing the screen part and was loosing connection's at the hinge.

The website has said, new design coming soon for about a year. I think they are waiting for me to buy the old model so they can release the new one.

Could be , I don't know. I know they were getting them from china but decided to make them all on there own.. probably the hold up.

I was looking at the woodmaxx, and the Hud-son, both here in NY. Wood-mizer has a new entry level mill for about $3k with similar capacities as the woodmaxx. And of course I have to mention Norwood so I don't get a certain someone all riled up.

So after all my research when I was looking some of the things I wanted was the longer bed (at the time the Woodmaxx had a 19' bed standard so I could cut 16 footers but I see they went to the shorter beds like everyone else now) , and the auto lube system so when you throttle it up it automatically got the lube flowing, you didn't have to remember to flip the little lever on then off every time. A see through lube tank so you can see how much lube you have in it, Woodland mills always bragged about their stainless tank, but i had no level indicator on it so how would you know how full it was? Positioning of the push bar/controls was also important, some have the push handle close to the machine so you are always leaning in to push where as the Woodmaxx has the push bar way out in front of you. AND.... ELECTRIC START! It was extra but well worth the price, don't want to have to be yanking that cord all the time!

So theres my thoughts...

PS: I could not get Norwood to answer a call OR call me back... I did not want that if I needed a part or something!

And rile that boy up, its fun!!
