WOW just got power back on late yesterday afternoon from loosing it Thursday night, internet just got turned back on this morning 11:00 am. These pictures was Friday morning, still lot of snow on ground but tomorrows rain should turn it all back into mud. It was the most snow I had seen in 40 years in April, forecast all week said 3-6", at 5:00 Friday morning when done-ish I had 12-14" of the heaviest snow I ever seen. This was one storm I wish I could Passover............

It's amazing how much things can change in 48 hours.

Same view, Friday and today.

Perfect weather, too... Sunny and 45, good weather to tend my smoker outside and get some work done. You guys can keep that 80 degree crap, if I want to be hot I'll put another log on the fire.

I have seen storms in April, but this was one of the heavier ones. Next door to Maine, in New Brunswick, we received about 9" to 12". We've been metric for decades, but I still have Dad's yard stick in the garage Reads 9 inches in the photo). There was wind as well. In return for some chainsaw "work", I'll get some good firewood from this blow down.View attachment 650629

Changed here too. 54°F and sunny. We'll have mid 80s soon enough, but without risk of tornados. We all tend to like what we are used to.

Happy Easter and stay safe.IMG_20200412_184313.jpg

As for using one of the SS splitters. You won't find a hydraulic splitter that can keep up with it unless it is splitting rounds into 8ths.
That's what the super split guys keep saying, but at the Paul Bunyan show, we all witnessed the SS guys get their azz handed to them by a TW5 with a 4-way wedge!

Both had the same amount/size wood and two guys running them!

After dropping these two loads at a muddy spot in the road,

standard.jpg

I decided I better go get them out today, as it rained some last night and we have more rain coming tomorrow. SO, with water standing all over today, I took the dozer out to retrieve the loads,

standard.jpg

I had already separated the loads, so I decided to pull them the last quarter mile one at a time,

standard.jpg

and with the new water in the fields, it was very muddy,

standard.jpg

So I was glad I was on tracks, as I didn't want my lanes all rutted up!

standard.jpg

Once the heavier load was at the splitting site, I went back for the load of logs,

standard.jpg

and it was easy peasy to pull it through,

Next will be to get it all cut/split and into boxes!

Man you got hammered. Long power outages are not a lot of fun.

They threatened us with 6-10" but ended up with an inch after a lot of cold rain. Big warm rain tomorrow here - should do in the remaining snow. I hope.

Nice to have a dozer. My land is like that right now and I could never do that kind of work on it either with my tractor without rutting it all up.

That must be a very nice setup. Is it a wood processor?

I have a horizontal only with a push through wedge. Mine is junk but the design is solid. I’ve never seen a video of kinetic splitter beating a fast hydraulic with a 4 way. The usually demo against a slower than a snail hydraulic with a 1 way wedge splitting nice straight lumber.
