I've toyed with the idea of making some sort of log arch, propane tank mover hybrid like this. Then I could move them behind the loader if they were too big to use the bucket on. DiggerPineOnHauler.jpg

What is your tally for wood use for the entire season?

Around 6 to 7 cord or so. This winter could be interesting. I am hammering the "winter side" of the shed pretty heavy with these temps here in Maine.

And by season, I mean calendar year, not cold season etc.

I hear you on that one. I figure I am pushing 3 weeks ahead of recent years normal usage and half way isn't until Feb 1st or so. Always good to be a year ahead with your wood pile during winters like this.

The green is hiding under all the weeds I didn't get the chance to brush hog last year... the fields in the background haven't been mowed since summer of 2015. I spent what time I had in 2016/17 on the other side behind the house, and still have more to cut/clean up before I can get back to this one. But the other side was/is grown up far worse, and is broken up in smaller areas more than the one pictured above.

I got new blades for the brush hog for Christmas, that should help cut quality a lot.

I can hardly see the weeds thru the snow you have. That's what make it look so different.

Nice! I've been thinking of an arch for the few large trees that get blown down out at our place.

Not sure if I posted my arch here or not.

I have a bunch to burn as well and I have alot of stumps. I cleaned off the stumps the best I could with the backhoe so I am hoping that they will burn. Looking at the forecast it looks like it is going to have to wait until spring. Here is a video of the stumps I cam going to try to burn.A hack for the removal and disposing of stumps - YouTube
I set wood on fire.

Question - I have my wood in plastic Ropaks (skid boxes) and the problem I have is them freezing down. There is a lot of weight when I get up to 3/4 cord of hardwood in them and then it rains or melts and they freeze down and I cannot break them loose as they are about at the limit of my little Ford.

Also - i like to cut one year and let them sit until the next year which means they make even better contact with the ground.

I am looking for suggestions on how to deal with this.
