Kickback while cutting with the grain is pretty much nonexistent. I guess you could accidentally hit the tip into another round but besides that I'm not sure how it could happen.

Anytime you're cutting with the bar buried, especially when rocking the saw up and down (as recommended to change noodle length) it's possible. I'm not saying it's likely, or that it'll happen, but if the bar was tipped down effectively cutting less than it's full length, and then you lower the power head, now the bar is cutting it's full length, but there can be a little nub above the tip that COULD cause kickback. Really though, you just need to be careful when you do it, and observe all the safety guidelines. Kinda like every other time you use a saw.

When I pinch my wife in bed she kicks back.

I've never had that happen either with a chainsaw, I just figured it was possible.

1986 Ford F-350, 2wd, 351W with 4spd, bare bones as far as options go. It was my Grandfathers, he passed away in 1993, has only 26k for mileage. I just added the dump body over the summer, it had a rack body prior.
