Just for comparison this is what mine looks like. It is an inch wider than the HF unit and has a 4" diameter sheave and a grease zerk in the shaft/bearing. It is rated for 19,ooo lbs. The larger diameter is easier on your cable but all in all the HF block seems like it is a pretty good deal if it holds up. You could even buy a spare and still be ahead of the game. Mine is better quality but I also paid a premium just for the Warn name.

I have (3) HF snatch blocks, so far they have worked just fine for me. I use a 20% off coupon when I buy one and it's an even better deal!

I have a HF pully that I converted into a self releasing s/b, and a good ($80 good) similar looking but heavier, USA built s/b.
The sheave on the HF s/b is aluminum fwiw. I think there ok for direction change, but for "doubling up", I use the good one.

Wow, that IS big. I might just try one out. Aluminum for the wheel (pulley) is a bit of a concern.
Mine homemade is steel, and the cable leaves marks on it!

The Warn snatchblock (GG) is interesting cuz it has proof lines scribed into it to tell you when
you are stretching the eye-holes.

BCP's Champion units are indeed inexpensive, but why is it so hard for sellers to publish the
important specs?

RUSTYIRON: I want to see your pix, too.

Anyway, great info on snatches, gentlemen. Thanks for the great posts.

Did a little cutting today. It was way too hot to be working in the sun. And man those saw chaps don't breathe at all. I'll wait for another day to get it split and stacked.

In the summer I wear a light pair of shorts under my wrap around chaps. Having no pant legs under my chaps helps a lot and I get a little air on my hot rear end :)
