Kubota b2630
Hi everyone I looking for a B series tractor with mulching mid mount mower. I am looking mostly at the b2620 and b2630 but will go with a bigger tractor to get a mulcher. So can i get a mulcher with one of these?

Welcome to TBN.

Any mower deck can use a mulching blade and typcaily they dont take more HP - just the serated blade and usually a plug in the chute. I use mulching blades on my Ferrris ZTR and no plug - the blades just shred the grass a bit finer.

Yes, all you need to tell them is you want mulching blades and the block off plate is just a cover over where the chute goes.

Personally I would get the standard mower and have them throw in a set of mulching blades and a block off plate that you can change out anytime and put the block off plate on it.

Look up "kubota mulching mower set up" on google and you should see what I refer.

Personally I would go with "gator blades" whcih are mulching blades and use the standard chute. The problem with the blocking plate is that if you are cutting long or thick or wet grass clumping will occur and clog up the bottom and clump the grass. Its better to cut it as fine as possible and discharge the clippings.

Well I tried to look up "kubota mulching mower set up" on google and didn't find a thing. Is there a part number for the kit or a link to a site? Thanks for helping me with this i'm new to this.

Call your dealer and ask them. They have the full parts manual and can tell you about the deck options for this tractor. Philip.

I haven't tried gator blades, but I sure notice the clumping effect that Carl describes w/the 54" on my new GR.

The Deere John that I had previously had a partial/adjustable chute block-off for the mulch kit that allowed enough discharge to avoid clumping, but not enough to make obvious wind rows.

I wish the Kubota deck had a similar feature.

Here is another link from a Google search - its not hard to find on page 1 of the search. http://www.mytractorforum.com/showthread.php?t=82291

Now, I would still suggest you install Gator blades first - it realy depends on what you want and need to accomplish.

I wouldn't over complicate the act of cutting grass - which in my opinion the adaptation of the baffles and plates does that and will coat with grass and rust out faster due to all the baffles and moisture traps.

I have the mulch kit on my BX and its crap. Its coming off when I service the deck at the beginning of mowing season.

Im going to try leaving on the factory mulch blades, if that still doesnt work, im going to install the Oregon Fusion G6 blades. Ive read great things about the G6
