Tractor shows on RFD channel.

RFD (channel 379 on DIRECTV) has a few tractor shows that air regularly. One is called "Talkin' Tractors" and another is "Classic Tractor Calendar". There is also a show about antique machinery in general.

If you like old tractors and such, then you might enjoy some of their programs. I am just passing it on in case anybody might be interested but did not know about them. I had never heard of them until a few weeks ago, myself.

Great shows, not long enough and not on often enough. caught them on DTV, and switched to Dishnetwork, they're on ch 9409, they'd be nice in HD.
Another reminder, Sept. 10,11,12th is Heritage festival weekend in Lanesville In. lookin forward to it big time, lots of old machinery.

I watch those tractor shows all the time. I think Talkin' Tractors is new because Classic Tractor Fever used to be in its time slot. Wonder what they did with that show? Machinery of the Past has some good old pieces on there. Those are about the only shows I watch on RFD-TV. I got over 11 hours of those shows I taped. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Since I haven't watched much of the other programs, do they have any shows featuring modern ag equipment and/or heavy equipment? That would be interesting to see.

Watch them all the time. My only complaint is them not running enough clips with the sound of them running. Only very rarely do I get to hear an old machine running for more than a few seconds.

OT one of the country sounds I miss is the bark of a 4 cyl diesel tractor as the governor opens up on a pull. All you hear nowadays is the whine of the tubo it seems.

I just DTVTivo them so I can keep up.. I haven't seen "talkin tractors" yet will search for it thanks... Funny the lack of sound is also anoying to me... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have found the programs quite interesting. It wouldn't mind seeing a couple of programs about imports, for example some of the work that Mark777 has done in restoring Yanmars.
