Yes, it was running when it went over(and continued for a while when down) but now seems the engine is running normally. Currently I am draining fluid that got into the dry clutch. Some improvement already, but not complete as to tractor speed in gear. May have to bring it to a professional if I am not satisfied with it's operation. Yes, it was a scary situation going down that hill. I won't be doing that one again! Thanks for the explanation of what happens on a steep hill.

I wonder if there's a way to get some sort of solvent into the clutch space to possibly clean it - if there's a drain plug, might there be some access above? I know if a motorcycle dry clutch gets oil on it (*ahem* older bmw k-bike) it's pretty much done for but that's also because oil there is from a leaking seal that won't stop without a couple thousand dollar donation to the mechanics

I know of only one access and that is under a mounting plate for the loader on the side of the tractor. Trying to avoid this procedure but might consider it if the operation does not improve to my satisfaction. Thanks for your input.

The oil soaked clutch isn’t likely to get much better especially with oil likely still leaking on it.
