I bought a used almost new tsc brand 4ft bush hog for my MF CG 1715 and it really shakes the tractor a lot I think more than it should. I checked under it all looks and feels ok anyone have this problem?

Try greasing the blade pivots. Often if a shredder sits for a while they will rust and the blades will not swing freely.

Make sure the driveshaft isn’t bent.

If the mower is cutting good and the blades are free turning on the blade bolts, you may have a bent output shaft on the cutter gearbox. Ken Sweet

1) Checks the blades to make sure they are not bent.

2) Check the bolts holding the gearbox down.

3) Grease the U-joints and PTO shaft.

4) Check the oil in the gearbox.

Is the tail wheel riding on the ground or do you have the whole mower suspended in the air while mowing, which it shouldn't be? If so, that will add a lot of vibration and sway carried back to your tractor.

All good advice. I use a 4' JD hog on the back of one of my B2150 Kubota's. If the blades do not swing freely on the blade carrier -- that is the most common reason for severe out of balance shaking. It doesn't take much to get grass or worse yet some twine or other extraneous stuff wound around the bolt holding the blade to the carrier. I have also seen times when I could find no visual reason, yet spraying both blade bolts with WD-40 made most of the vibration go away. As another guy said it is never "quiet" and if held up in the air always shakes a small tractor more than you would like. If it is an old machine the blades may have been ground down when sharpening so much that they significantly differ in weight out at the tips. Good luck with your particular case.

I've had MANY times when I've started both the old LX4 and this Frontier RC2048 when they've been out of balance simply because the blades don't shake out right. Usually can fix it by going back to idle and restarting (on the 2025R; needed to be above idle on the 4010). Sometimes, 3 restarts are needed.

One time on the LX4, restarts didn't settle it out. I looked underneath and had blades across each other. Had to pry one of them out of the way.
