I found a car so old and rusted I couldn't tell what it was, but it had no top. Filled it up with baling wire and the top of a silo the wind must have blown off and sent to the scrapper.

We did! It was a Studebaker Hawk! :laughing:

That make sense seeing as how Studebakers were made there. :laughing:

It is stories like this that reinforce my appreciation for my modern tractor. Lots of folks are nostalgic for their antiques, but improvements to the machinery, particularly to safety features, have made models from the last few decades way, way safer to operate.

A friend had me raised in a proper basket to go on a roof yesterday. But it's a small indoor electric forklift. I was quite pissed when he started turning on uneven pavement with me still at a good height. ALWAYS if possible, lower your freaking load prior to moving! I can't believe how many tractors I see moving about with a raised loader! You might think it was some kind of phallic symbol or something to drive around like that!
