Tractor purchase on-line. What about taxes?

Calling all owners that have purchased a tractor from out of state and had it shipped/delivered.

I have a couple questions

1). I live in NY state. If a dealer ships a tractor (like Carver) and sales tax is not collected ,what happens? Is the state that the tractor is delivered to notified?

2). Does anyone have experience in warranty repairs with a local dealer when purchasing a tractor this way?

You need to check on the rules in NY regarding agricultral equipment. Some states do not tax farm equipment...tractors, plows, etc., however if you got a belly mower, insofar as most states are concerned, you bought a big lawnmower, and mowers are taxed.
