When you stated
And we aren't professional part guys - except for Jim
I presume you were referring to me. Over the last 55 yrs I've had a lot of experience looking up/ordering JD parts but I'm far from a professional JD parts person! If you don't want any of my JD parts experience then just let me know.

There's little doubt your customer experience was less than stellar.
I'm still confused as to why you claim the dealership missed such a lucrative opportunity when they have already made a conscious decision to not provide the service you were seeking that day. They have disagreed in advance.
Additionally I looked at 3 major regional equipment rental outfits and 30 day rental of a large CTL with a bucket costs between $3500 and $4500 in my area.
Sumbelt did offer a large list of attachments including a 6' wide brush cutter with 4" capability. Their CTL with cutter 30 day rental rate is $5800 using a random Texas zip code before adding taxes and their environmental fees and the optional insurance and mobilization which you may or may not need.
So from where I sit it's not terribly likely there's a ton of money to be made by renting out the same equipment for an amount that meets your $4000 budget.
Thanks for looking out for me on the cost of the rental. Can’t put a price on help like that.

I have a price quote and a contract from a dealer already to rent one with a brush cutter, ins., delivery to and from, etc for a little over $4k per month.

I think You are just being obtuse about not understanding the Kubota dealer missing an opportunity but for the benefit of others here it is again, and for you, in simple terms. They never took the opportunity to try and turn a potential rental customer into a buyer. You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.

Fellas... I think Scotty was just making a point about the decline of service in general. In too many places, employees don't take the time they used to take to help people. We can debate why til the cows come home.

TX Jim, I'm about 45 minutes north of you now...come June we'll be headed to retirement out near Lake Bob Sandlin.

When customers seem plentiful it can affect attitudes...

I see this in medical too... some due to fatigue for sure... if a patient isn't compliant or misses appointments the coddling of before often no longer exists.

We had surgery delays last week and several unhappy patients arriving at 5:30 am for 7 am surg start time and still in lobby at 7 am.

I went back to pre-op asking if an RN could take a moment to come to the lobby and was told we don't have time for that and then I said two may leave and quickly was told if they leave they leave...

I'm thinking all that goes into a surgery, the team, surgery suite, supplies, insurance, Covid Test, transportation so why wouldn't we be more pro-active???

adding… you NEVER want your surgeon to be in a rush… calm and cool with no distractions… complications can arise and when they do it has a ripple effect…

Thankfully in 30 years not once has a surgery been cancelled due to a problem with Engineering/Facilities… maybe I should go out on top?

Yes, I think that is the way it works. What really fascinates me is the way that Google seems to be using my previous searches and my internet browsing to modify what it shows me for current search results.
