compact equipment magazine is an awesome read... Very well laid out and very informative for 50 HP and down... They spend a lot of pages on skid steer type and sizes also.
I don't have a debit card, I don't have a cell phone, I put my hand over my heart when a the American flag passes in a parade or I hear the Star Spangled Banner and I still enjoy magazines. There is a real shortage of old school as far as I am concerned.Bob_Young said:I must be missing something.
Magazines are so "old school", why even consider one when you've got TBN? Sure there could be articles and pictures, but where would all the interesting commentary come from? One great thing about the new media is that falsehood and error get debunked "right quick". The same type of thing in dead tree media can live on as myth for years.
Only advantage I see is that it would give you something to read on the 'can'. Maybe something along the lines of the Consumer's Research Car issue would be of value in assessing reliability and the value of new features.
Product brochures make a good (and cheap) substitute for those addicted to the printed word.

Now this is what I was trying to say. I have had computers since the early days. I started with a TI99 and had to type in programs in basic to do anything. I love much of the new technology. But I also feel we are losing touch with too much "old school", but I do think magazines will be around as long as I am.Farmwithjunk said:Yep! I know I could take my laptop, but I don't. I LOVE taking a magazine and sitting under the big Chestnut tree in the back yard, reading until I doze off, and waking up when the wife rings the dinner bell. Tell me that aint "old school".
This world would be a better place if we could forget the high tech stuff every now and then and just enjoy the basics.
