I am currently using my tractor hydrolics and was wondering if I would get more power out of using a pto driven system with a tank and hydrolic pump. Is there anyone out there who would know about this

What are you using the tractor hydraulics for? A backhoe? Or maybe something else?

I am using a backhoe and am currently attaching the hydrolic lines to the tractor. I know that there are independant hydrolic systems for the backhoe but will I get more power out of it.

An external pump & tank will give more speed (more oil volume being pumped) but not more digging force. Tractor internal hydraulics are set at about 2000 psi. A standard external system will be set about the same. That's not to say you couldn't bugger with it and raise the pressure a little - but there won't be a major difference. The safest way to get more digging force is with bigger cylinders (different backhoe). /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I put Hydraulic resevior on front with an 8 GPM pump mounted on the midshaft, because I don't have MMM. The pump is rated for same speed as the mid PTO shaft speed. With this I run my extra hydraulic cylinders with. I still use the hydraulics from the original pump for my FEL and BH. Be patient, you don't have an $80,000 backhoe. It will do anything a big tractor will do, it just takes longer....
