Lot's of good info here guys, thanks. I gotta say, I kinda lean towards Soundguy on the dedicated mower issue. I think it would be nice to have something that was "multi-use". Unfortunately, I believe my wife will have the final say, since she does most of the mowing. I just want to have enough ammo to fight the good fight later this winter, when actually buy a mower/tractor!
Sombody asked earlier what kind of mower died on me. It is a John Deere 210, don't know the year. It was junk when I got it (for free), and now it will only run occassionally. I briefly considered fixing it up, but I can't find anything on it that DOESN'T need fixed/replaced. The only reason it made it through this past sumer is because I own a welder.
Whatever I end up with, and I have been looking at/ considering everything, I want something that will do a good job and last. My previous mower was a John Deere STX 38, and while it was an okay mower, it is really not designed for the rough use we put it through. I sold it to my parents and it is currently not operational.
