Tractor driver killed in Schoharie County crash

CARLISLE -- The driver of a farm tractor was killed Monday evening in a crash with a Chevrolet Cobalt that crossed into the oncoming lane, flipping the tractor and ejecting the driver, according to State Police.

David Huse, 56, of Karker Road in Warnerville, was pronounced dead on the scene.

The crash happened on Little York Road after 6:30 p.m.

The driver of the Cobalt, Courtney Chichester, 20, of Little York Road, and her front seat passenger, Joshua France, 19, of Cobleskill were transported to Cobleskill Hospital where they were treated and released.

A rear-seat passenger, Katie Haag, 19, of Richmondville -- who investigators said was not wearing a seatbelt -- was thrown into the windshield. She was taken to Albany Medical Center and remains in stable condition

The investigation continues.

Very tragic. I wonder what the lady was doing that distracted her long enough to cross over the centerline? I'm thinking maybe on the cellphone, or maybe schmoozing with the boy in the passenger seat, or turned around talking to the passenger in the backseat?? Whatever, this will be a hard lesson for her to learn. I feel for the man's family, they lost a loved one to a teen who was probably being careless.

Very sad indeed, unfortunately some people learn the hard way that driving needs your full attention at all times..
