I have started requiring any hunters on my place take does as we are over populated.
Almost no browse in the wood and the deer are getting smaller.
Actually calling then field rats because of the amount of damage to the corn fields.

Hopefully the quail will come back around Center, Mo. They were a little better last year. (There’s a Setter in my profile pic. I spend a lot more time bird hunting than deer hunting, that’s for sure.) Don’t blink when you’re driving thru town, or you’ll miss it. Ha!
We are one of just a few non resident landowners up there. Almost all my neighbors live full time up there. They have all become good friends through the years. They mostly take does for meat, so we aren’t overpopulated with deer. Numbers are up, but not enough to cause any crop damage. Some of the soybeans were trimmed down a little this summer, but that’s it. Lots of small bucks running around. Was sure keeping this guy busy running them off.
