Is there a way to guess the age of a Yanmar 2000

1975-1977. Have heard it said date is sometimes on the rear wheel. Even if so there would be no way to know if that wheel actually came on a 35 year old tractor.

You may be right. Just going by tractor data information. Thinking the 2000b might have been made through 1979.

Keep in mind there were three series of YM2000. The differences are mostly sheet metal and the instrument panel, with a few instances where the right series has to be known to get the right parts.

1) Headlights external on the sides of the grille, and the hood hinges at the back like a car. Painted green. (75~77??)

2) The common one. (77~79?)

3) Common, plus plastic instrument panel and more hood side panels. (YM2000B) (79???)

And the US version (YM240) was like #1 and 2, plus it added an external air cleaner in the final year. (1981). All years green.

I have Yet! found out why my 2000 eng. ser.# has a -A Or have I seen one like it. 2TR20A-A. Asked and posted this a couple of times over the last 4.5 yrs. I've owned it wth no reply's or anyone even having the same # with the -A Wierd
