I'm not knocking small tractors. I'm talking about actual toy tractors. I have a great memory of going with my Grandfather to grind feed. Right next door to the mill was a John Deere dealer. It had an old wooden store front with display windows, one of which was always full of the little JD tractors and implements. I never missed a chance to stare thru the window at those tractors. Never got one, but one christmas I did get a red generic tractor.
Back about the time I bought the TC29, I was reading a book on old Ford tractors, and I came across a picture of a toy Jubilee. The story was that it belonged to a woman whose father had bought a Jubilee new and the dealer had gave him a toy one to match. Not only was my dealer not so generous, of the toys for sale the closest thing to my tractor was the TC33. But I thought the idea was nice.
In a post on the Jubilee RobS mentioned getting a Franklin mint Jubilee for his wife. It got me wondering if anyone else had tried to get a toy to match their tractor, and how much success they had. I would be willing to bet there are some collectors out there too.

Ernie,

I have 2910 and my wife bought me a toy 3410 for Christmas. That's the only model the dealer has in toys.

Hey, thanks for reminding me of this. Why am a looking at larger tractors; I already have a 3410!

By the way, I have tilted it to the side and it takes quite an angle for it to tip over. Wonder if that translates to the reality of an actual tractor.

Ernie,
When I was buying my tractor it took awhile as I always go for the best deal. If I can I take my girls with me where ever I go. They were with me that day and the dealer gave each of them a metal toy tractor that everything worked on to play with while we were waiting. When we closed up the deal and were headed home I told them to give the tractors back. He said oh just let them keep them. I thought ok that was a nice gesture. He gave me the boxes for them and when I got home I saw that they were $60 each!!! I thought that was a pretty nice gesture. We wrote him a thank you card for sure that is still hanging in their show room.

Richard, you and Glenn ought to hang on to those toys. I looked at some on ebay, and some of the older ones are bringing some nice prices.
