I live on about 50 acres of land of which we lease most of it out to a guy who runs cattle on it. He takes care of the fences and property for the cattle but every once in a while I pay him to do some miscellaneous tractor work around the house. My parents just purchased 30 acres about 12 miles away that they plan to build a retirement home on. They will need a tractor for shredding, road maintenance, clearing, etc. My first thought was great, I can keep it at my place until they have a shop built, and use it for the miscellaneous work around my house. In researching the tractor that I think will best fit their needs I settled on the 5035. These tractors are a lot heaver that I thought. The 5035 with unfilled tires and FEL weighs about 7000 pounds. My truck in only rated to tow 7200 pounds and I don't think I can justify buying a heaver duty farm truck just to tow it. With all that said my question is this: Can the loader be attached and detached on a trailer by itself to haul it separately or does it need to be on the ground? Since there is only 12 miles separating us I can easily make two trips.

You should be OK. Your really not going that far. What is your tow vehicle? Motor? Transmission?
