I had someone give me this little trailer. I would like to turn it into a tool cart to use around the farm(It will not see the road).I will be pulling it with my Polaris Ranger.I would like to put my small gas welder and an air compressor and a tool box on it as well as some places to hang cords, shovels, rakes and such I would like to see what others have built.

I don't remember seeing a totally dedicated tool trailer.

Most likely you will do it in wood for simplicity, for the hand tools, like rakes, shovels, brooms etc. PVC pipe works great 1.5" up to 4" keeps them vertical and takes the least amount of space.

Good luck,

Neat idea. I'd put the heavy items just forward of center and one on either side. Compressor on one side, welder on the other. Tool box on the forward side with the lid opening from the front. Set the tool box high enough so as to place some working stock such as long 2x4's or angle iron lengths under it and between the heavy stuff. Maybe include a generator, too? Good use of a trailer like that....

I built one and put ATV tires on it. Hauls wood, Dirt, Rock, Chainsaws etc. I'll try to get a pick on here. I cut the axel down so it was a couple inches narrower than my Polaris Sportsman. That way I can pull it around in the woods where ever the Sportsman can Go. I use it year round and we call it the " Cart " .Has a drop gate in the back Tilt bed and loops for bungees or tiedowns. The center of the floor is 4" lower than the sides of the bed to accomodate Milk Crates so they dont slide around the bed when driving. I use the milk crates for my chainsaw tools and gas and they can be removed to haul buckets of water etc. The floor is expanded metal with an optional wood slide in cover for hauling dirt. I made the 20" tall sides so that they can be removed although in 6 years I never have. This " Cart " is so valuable to me I would never sell it.
