One of the coldest March's on record for this part of the country. Starting to take it's toll on the deer herd. Fed my small herd today - now numbering 15. The small fawns have it the toughest. The fawns are desperate and will come relatively close to feed. When I leave, the dominant adult deer put the run on them - guess it's survival of the fittest.
Attached picture is of twin fawns enjoying a corn treat to supplement their browse. Note the little guy on the right is a buck.
