Touching up paint...

Well, with all this talk of the new kbota orange paint conspiracy, I thought I'd ask...

How often do you guys touch up things like your FEL, backhoe, etc? And do you use spray or brush on? Or do you just leave it be?

I could see if the FEL was pretty scraped up using a brush might be easier and be thicker than using a spray can.

I have never touched up paint on any tractor. My brother and I did repaint one of our old Fords once just after we bought it.

I'm not saying I never will, I just haven't so far in the 50 years I have been using them.

I've only touched up a couple of areas that have experienced some random, unusual paint mishap... e.g., being scraped with a chainsaw.

I would never repaint the business end of an implement, like a backhoe bucket. That's just wasting paint and $$ that could be spent on replacement teeth.

My farming tractors, never, since 1971. Have restored several older JD 2 cyl tractors over the years to resell. Ken Sweet

You know, I figured this was the case, especially for implements. But with the huge thread on new kbota orange, I had to ask.

I scratched my cub cadet pretty bad right after getting it. Mowing around a trailer I got to close and the corner of the trailer gouged the rear fender. I did end up touching that up and it turned out pretty good. But that's different that trying to paint the FEL or BH.
