TORO 3280 D
I am trying to switch off the plow for the mower deck on the 3280D. My dad is ill and he used to be a dealer so I should know how to do this...but....

Plow is de-installed, PTO shaft is connected...lift arms will not come down to connect the deck - even with lever in float mode. Is there something I am missing? Switch, bleed valve? I have scoured the entire manual with nothing more than "put lift arms in float mode and weight them to connect mower deck." I weight 180 and they don't budge.

Ideas?

On my 328D that is similar, I use a small scissor jack to hold the arms down when changing decks:

You might try a short 2x4 to pry it down and some small pieces of wood to hold it down.

Good luck.
