Top-N-Tilt for 1533

I just ordered a Top-N-Tilt kit from Fischer Mill in Oregon. I should have it the end of next week and setup by the weekend. I'll post some pictures and give more details after the kit arrives.

I paid $350.00 plus shipping. This includes both top and side cylinder, mounting hardware and hoses. Like I said it sounds like it will be nice but I can't tell you for sure yet since my kit is still enroute to my location. They seem great to deal with though. They are a Massey dealer and have a 1533 in stock so they were able to check fit before shipping it out to me. If you want more info call Fischer Mill at 503-631-3411. Ask for Bill in parts. They had all the parts in stock and were able to ship mine out the same day I placed the order.

I can't remember the name of the cylinder manufacturer. If I think of it I'll post it and I will post pictures and short review once I use it a litte. The dealer I bought it from said they'd done several top-n-tilt kits like this, mostly for landscapers and they've all been pretty happy with it. I was going to order cylinders from CCM but they are out until October or so. I was told Agco had a top-n-tilt kit available so I checked with Steve Barcuch and was told they don't have a kit at the present time but most likely will later this year. In the meantime Steve recommended that I contact Fischer Mill about the top-n-tilt setups.

That's what I was going to do, but I have just about given up on Mark. If I could get both cylinders at a decent price with check valves from someone else, I would buy them. Marks a nice guy, but I sure wish that he could get more cylinders at a time.

Sorry about the delay in giving a report on the top-n-tilt kit I ordered, we've had some computer trouble for the last week or so and haven't been on it much. I received the cylinders and found that the top link did not have a check valve as I thought it did. I decided to go ahead and try using it anyway and it doesn't seem to bleed down. Last night I parked the tractor for about 3 hours, went back and checked it and there was no noticeable bleed down at all so for the time being at least I guess I'll be ok without the check valves. I'll post a more detailed report and some pictures over the weekend. John

I've had a few problems with my newly installed rear remotes which has prevented me from being able to give my top-n-tilt setup much of a test yet. I did get to use it briefly with a box blade and being able to change both angles from the tractor seat sure makes it nice when doing grading work! I did have one problem though. My hydraulic top link will subtract to a length about 2 1/4" shorter then the factory manual top link would. It's really nice to be able to tilt the box blade way down in the front so you can get the teeth to dig in quickly but you have to be careful. The first time I tried it my blade pulled into the ground so quick that before I was able to get it pulled back the top link cylinder was pulled down at enough of an angle that it rolled the edge of the PTO guard in.
