I have pondered this a bit.  My kioti have 3 holes to adjust/move the base point of the top link (where it connects to the tractor not the implement).  I have almost 100% used the bottom hole.  I wondered what the other two are primarily used for?  I watched a video once and it mentioned the top and second one were often used for ground tools like Plows.  
So my question is when would I use the top one vs the second one for say my disc/plow/chisel plow?
Is it primarily to get the clearance for the tool to be clear of the ground? Or does serve a different purpose to get better traction/angle of attack on the tool being used?
