Hi all got a real good question? Can you tell me how a top link can get bent only have about 375 lbs. on the back. I was at the local gas station and a guy was asking me about the tractor and I was showing him the 3-point and went to show him the pitch and it would spin easy halfway and had to use a pry bar wraped in towel(so I would no scratch the paint)anyways it was almost impossible as I screw it in. I have not hit anything or lifted with the back blade and thing that bugs me is I use to pull roots out of the ground and I even pick up broke down cars with my John Deere 2210 and never had these problems.has anybody ever had this problem with there top link.

Thanks

Must be new iron..... bends but doesn't crack the paint. My top link on the 4110 is made much stronger than the tractor will ever need. It had to come in contact with something for it to bend. Tell the dealer it is defective and he should replace it. Did your old tractor sell?

Could it be cross threaded?

No I had my John Deere dealership look at the top link and it is bent a little just enuff to make it a pain to use.I guess there going to replace it.I ask them how much a new top link costs and I almost hit the floor when Frank the parts guy said it is 450.00.I still would love to know what bent the top link so hopefully they can tell me.Yes my JD 2210 was sold the 3rd week he had it.

At that price, I think it would be time to go to TSC. Who cares if its a JD, for that much money, and it would do the same thing, just as good.

For that price toss in a bit more and a new hydraulic upgrade might be in order.

AM119874 LINK, UPPER CENTER ASSEMBLY 150.00 USD 150.00 USD

I'd still choke at $150.00, but your parts guy was a wee bit high! If he ordered this for warranty and wasn't really looking closely, he might have mistaken the 1 for a 4 - stranger things have happened!

I bent the top link on my JD 850 a few years back.
A new top link at TSC was $20.

matthew,
The single thing that causes most third arms to bend is mowing across a dip or ditch. The tail of the mower is pushed up, the rear wheels go down and then something has to give. It is normally the third arm.
