What is the maximum stroke length the disc was designed to use? If the cylinder has to much stroke, will it bend something on the disc? I would go with 2.5" diameter. The tie rod cylinders have been around forever, and are decent quality

I was going to say the same thing.

Also from the looks of your pic you have a tie rod style on it now, correct?

Yes tie rod piston, I bought the disk last year the main channel down the middle was cracked, had to stitch some beads so I could disk, in September I took apart the disk to re furbish, old worn disks were 15 to 17 inches, tires were shot, new. : 20" disks, tires, bolts, 3" c channel that wheel carrier bolts to, new main frame tube 4 x 4 x 3/8, paint, hoses.
The old disks with 8" stroke piston would make contact with the ground, with new 20" disks, I am looking for 3" or so more height,
I have 6" before tires make contact with front gangs.
I will re assemble the disk and and measure for piston
Sorry for the confusion, I was just looking to use a piston I had, but as someone said for 100 bucks buy the right one. Thanks again for the input. Dennis

It would be cheating to ask the JD dealer exactly what cylinder that disc was designed to use.
