Toothbar for my 4410

I called FCC (as mentioned somewhere here) and they would not sell their toothbar direct to me but did tell me that it retials for $265.00. I called my dealer and gave them all the information (as of my last call they did not know of a toothbar that I could use) and they gave me a price of $266.00 + $50.00 S&H, and $50.00 install ($25.00 per hole!)

Carver's toothbar is $259.00 +$40.00 S&H direct. Therefore, $60.00 more from the dealer installed.

Any thoughts on the differences between these two.

I personally think that $25 per hole is a bit excessive. Drilling the holes is a piece of cake and there are threads on various ways to do it. I purchased my toothbar from Carver and am delighted with the bar and the price.

I don't think $50 is unreasonable IF they bore the holes with a hole saw or drill bits, and do a nice job. I suspect, however, they would use a cutting torch, in which case I would put my $50 into a set of hole saws and 1/2" drill.

Thanks for the help and opinions. I got the dealer to waive the $50.00 install fee. I'm sure it was a hard decision for them since I am only spending $32,000 on my new 4410! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Wow! You must be getting a lot of toys for that price! I'm guessing a backhoe and loader are part of that package.
