Toothbar ??? Again

Hey All,

I am interested in adding a toothbar to my 16LA, 72" HD, but I'm not really excited about removing my bolt-on cutting edge.

When I was at my dealer I noticed some funky 'toothbars' that appeared to be an extra large bolt on cutting edge with chunks blown out every few inches. They didnt have jagged notches like a sawtooth but square notches.

Anyone have any experience with this type of 'toothbar'. I would suspect its not as aggressive as the real bars with teeth, but may be a nice compromise.

True they cost a little more, but when I was looking for a tooth bar, I was quoted about the same or higher prices for my bucket. I find that it is great for back racking, pushing rocks and trees with the dirt going thru the teeth. Good for carrying thing that don't fit in the bucket, large tree trunks. It does not dig quite as well as the other toothbars, but a lot better than the straight edge of a bucket. Also it adds to the strength of the front edge, it is quite thick metal. And it adds about 8 inches to the bucket lip allowing you to carry more dirt in the bucket.

Sounds like they are made from a road grader cutting edge used to roughen up ice, during snow removal.

TC35DFORME, New Holland's toothbar (or the one my dealer carries) will not fit over the bolt-on edge, but John Miller, III has repeatedly posted this source as being good. They advertise toothbars with or without bolt-on edges. You might give them a call if you are still looking.
