Hi all,

I know this is probably a tired subject, but I was unable to search and find anything recent. It looks like Markham was then Gator, and now North American implements????

Is that still the recommended approach? Do I need to wait and measure my actual bucket or are all the 61's identical?

I would like it ASAP so if that means Markham/Gator vs. WR, etc.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Looking forward to posting pics of my new tractor in the next 10 days!

Thanks all!

Hey puffy

As far as I know all the heavy duty 61's are the same.
The one thing that has kept me from getting a toothbar,is having to remove my cutting edge if I want a toothbar. When I do our road with gravel, I do alot of back dragging and the cutting edge saves wear and tear on the bucket.
I really wouldn't like the idea of having to keep switching them out,so until someone makes one to fit over a replaceable cutting edge,I'll pass for now.

Boy,I bet you're counting the days! You will love that machine!

Hiya,

Don't forget, Deere makes toothbars as well. I have one, very heavy duty, far more than the little 200cx on your 2520 will ever need. The one I have was made in Canada, I think they are made in Mexico now so I don't know if they have changed in quality or design from several years ago.

Before you permanently attach a tooth bar, Google "Ratchet Rake" and watch the videos. I have had one for over two years and it works great. Off and on in a minute and very well made...in Pennsylvania. Just used mine today to remove heavy orchard grass in a new garden area then graded my washed out driveway.

I have a 2530 and the OEM bucket cutting edge is fixed. Could you please point me to a source for the replaceable cutting edge?

Hello- I own a 2520 w/61" bucket and I'm looking for a tooth bar as well.

I received a quote from NA Implements for $303, $25 for extra tooth and $65 for shipping (I'm one State over) or $393.00

Everything Attachments has a WRL-FTB62 (W.R. Long) toothbar listed at $402.00 and offers FREE shipping to a business address in the eastern US (where I'm located).

So with a price difference of only $9, which tooth bar would you purchase? Or are they about the same?

They're actually all about the same...I've had one for 10-11 years now and still works quite well. IIRC, it was made by a company named Woods Brothers...I can't find any info online, so I guess they're out of business.

Two things I do suggest you look at before your purchase:
1) Weight...heavier indicates thicker material and greater likelihood to hold up over the long term.
2) The mounting ears (bolt to the side of the bucket) should should have slots rather then just a circular hole. That makes it easier to remove and reinstall.

The length of the tooth bar should be at least 1/4" (.25") smaller then the inside width of your bucket...again, for easier installation and removal.

My 61" bucket is factory drilled for the cutting edge. The replaceable edge is a JD product. It is edged front and back so you can get twice the life out of it.:)
