Toolbox mod complete for BX 2230 (pics)

I wrapped up my little toolbox project and thought I’d share for any of you that might be interested. This will not work for a BX23, it would stop you from spinning around for your backhoe.

For all of you welders out there this one would take you less than one hour to complete. I’ve listed the materials and cost below. I’m sure most of you have some if not all the materials needed lying around your shop. I did not have any of the materials so I had buy everything (I’m mostly a wood guy).

This mod does not involve messing around with the ROPS (drilling into or welding to) so no worries about the warranty thing.

2 - 1/4" x 3" x 36" flat steel - $12 (Lowes)
1- 1/4" x 2" x 36" 90 degree angle steel - $7 (Lowes)
1 - toolbox - 22" - $10 (Walmart)
12 - grade 5 hex bolts, nuts and lock washers - $5 (local hardware store)
2 - squared off u-bolts - $6 (local trailer company)

Total cost $40

One question - how are you going to see behind you?

The mod before this one was installing mirrors. Because the bracket goes all the way across you can put any size toolbox you want (small low profile if you want).
