Trying to fix an old john deere 210 disc. Several of the scrapers need new springs but for the life of me I can not stretch them long enough to attatch them. Anyone ever seen a tool made to stretch a spring? I am at work now, can get pics of spring and Disc on thursday if needed.

Use a ratchet strap to pull the spring over the seat.

I have several special spring tools for exhaust systems held together with springs. Look for motorcycle tools.

Not sure if it will work for your application but the old automobile drum brake spring tool might work. Been so long since using it but if I recall correctly, you simply used the long slim handle that had a concave end that rested on 'something' and you could stretch the spring and slide it off onto the thinga-majiggy. Dang it's been too long.

The problem with using a brake tool is that the springs dont go over pegs, they go into holes on the scraper arms so as far as I can tell they need to be stretched and twisted at the same time so that the hooks on the ends of the springs can be inserted. Really seems like a poor design and from my searching Ihave not found anything good said about this disc online, or from anyone local for that matter either. but it is all I have to work with.

I had a thought last night about getting a couple dozen self tapping screws and making them act as pegs to mount the springs too. I just worry that the metal would be too brittle and they would just snap from the side load.

I guess my problem is not so much the pulling of it, Hosspullers suggestion of a ratchet strap would make that easy enough, but the pull AND twist to hook the spring is the trick.

Looks like a job for Armstrong & a good pair of Vice Grips to pull and twist the end into the hole.
