If I could come up with an even cheesier way to make a "tool box" cover for my B3030 than the current Kubota cover, I could maybe get rich by selling the idea to Kubota!
The lid pops open if I just look at it. Call me ****, but it really bugs me! I've adjusted it(the cover) up as high as I can on the small mounting bolts which helped a little. What are you other B3030/2600 owners doing with yours to keep it shut and the dirt out?
Maybe I'm lucky but mine is ok. I never had any problem with it. But I have to admit that for the price, they could have bolted a metal lid. I put a pair of gloves inside mine and they never get dirty.
Yeah I agree that for the price of this machine they could have put a nicer lid on it. It looks that if you opened and closed it enough the lid would break off.
I am lucky though...mine seems to stay shut and it keeps things clean.
The foot pads on my backhoe are another thing though those things came loose after only a few hours of use. I cleaned everything up really well and used a scotch-brite pad to scuff up the paint a bit and stuck em back on with some 3M trim adhesive.....So far so good.
Along with the rear remote cover plate this is a joke for a "premium" line of tractor. I would prefer solid and functional to "premium." I always wondered what the heck that word meant regarding a tractor. I was just thinking today that I would need to loosen the bolts and try to adjust the tool box cover. Do you think Kubota reads any of this... Do they care???? /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
That said, I do ENJOY operating the tractor. Turned my three mulch piles today. About 15 to 20 yards each. This would have taken me several days with the B7100. Finished up in about 2 and a half hours with the B3030.... Enjoyed every minute of it. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
