Took the plunge - new Bota on the way!

Many thanks to everyone who contributes to this forum. This has been an invaluable education for someone who last spent seat time on a tractor 35 years ago.

Looked at the blue and green, clearly excellent equipment, but somehow the orange brand just clicked for me.

I wanted a Grande series, thought the 3010 would have been plenty for my 11 acres, but liked the bigger FEL of the larger units, so went shopping for a 3710. Being peak season, 3710's were in short supply, but the dealer I liked worked out a great 4610 package, which is due for delivery this week. One sure thing... I will NEVER need any more tractor than that in this lifetime!

I would love to hear any recommendations of things to do and/or watch for with a new unit - other than the obvious ones. One guy, for instance, told me his new Bota needed to have fasteners re-torqued after some initial usage... after that they were fine. Was that sound advice? Other things along the same lines?

Muhammed and everyone else, thanks for building such an excellent resource. I can't imagine any other way to learn so much so fast from what appears to be some really good people.

I bought a smaller L-series but not the Grande. I really like mine.

The dealer I purchased my tractor from must have done a super job of preping my tractor every bolt I checked was nice and tight and all the joints we lubed.

Follow the breakin procedures in the manual, in fact read the manual a couple of times before you run the tractor. You got a great machine there. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I took the plunge as well Gramps. I couldn't help but to go w/orange as well. I went w/the L-4610 HST as well. I think mine should be in and my 4 in 1 bucket should be installed by wed of this coming week. We will have to compare notes. Congrats on a very fine tractor.

The 3710 aren't a big seller in these parts..yet/w3tcompact/icons/hmm.gifbut the 3010 models seem to have the market sew up around these parts,kinda strange how it works.

Wow, when you upgrade, you really upgrade./w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif Ought to be a great machine. Naturally, everyone needs to check for any loose fasteners, but of the two new Kubotas I've bought, I never found a loose one. Obviously, my dealer did a proper job of settting them up both times.

Grandad,Did you get the Hy-Dro or the GST? The 4610 is an excellent machine.I still can not get over how well this tractor handles and how smooth it is, for its size.

Our Dealer has a hard time keeping in 4610's, one of his best sellers.You will soon find out why!!!

The only problem I had with my L3710DT was that one of the hitch pins that holds the loader stand in the folded position shook loose during my initial test drive. I wasn't going very fast and it didn't damage anything. I just got off, found the pin, put everything back in place and went on my merry way.

I just ordered an L4610 with HST, FEL, Long 4n1 with toothbar, R4's, ATI skidsteer QA, and a HD Hardee 6' B-hog yesterday while I was home sick with the FLU! Delerium has its advantages. I was able to use several Out of State quotations to get my dealer in the ballpark. He ended up being within $200 of the lowest price I was able to find (with BeeBop's help) and I was still able to buy local.

Approximately 2 week delivery. I can't wait.

According to my local dealer, the L4610 is allocated; so I'm a little confused on why they're offering the rebate unless a facelift is in the works.

congrats on the new tractor, be sure to keep us posted. THAT IS A LOT OF TRACTOR, WHAT KINDS OF WORK DO U HAVE PLANNED FOR IT. as others have mentioned be sure to read the manuel, then read it again, then read it while you are by the tractor, easier to find things when u are right with it.i think i am jealous/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Thanks for the advice! I do plan to take it nice 'n easy and to be safe. I have a few years before retirement and plan to make it that far and then some.

I went with the hydro drive. I drove Fergusons, Fords, Cases and an International Super M years ago... all straight drives, of course. The first 3010 I drove had the GST, and I thought that was slick until I jumped on the one with HST. There is supposed to be some power loss with the hydro's, but I don't expect it to be an issue for my requirements.
