On your Land Pride LR1572, that is a landscape rake that is rated for 20-35hp tractors. I would be looking at an LR2584 (25-50hp) at an absolute minimum and preferably an LR3584 or LR3596. (30-65hp rating) Your tractor will destroy that LR1572.

I would get back with your dealer and get this changed ASAP.

I like my 2009 DK45 so far. It has 115 hrs. I also have the KL1590 loader. The KL1590 was a loader built for Kioti in Kansas by KMW (Kansas Metal Works). Here is link to their web site. KMW Ltd. Front End-Loaders & Backhoes
It should handle most of what you need to do. You will always need to add more attachments or a larger tractor. You have only started, the needs will only grow from here. Welcome to the Pack and Good Luck and don't forget to keep us posted.

I wouldn't worry about the rake. I understand MntViewRanch's point but I think he exaggerated a bit. You will not destroy the rake unless you try to. I have the equivalent Woods rake on my DK40se and I bend and break tines but the rake itself holds up just fine.

IMO if he trys grading with it, he will bend the framework of the rake. If he only uses it as a rake for leaves and such, then it will be fine.

Oh when I distroyed my rake, I was not trying to bend it up, I was grading some very irregular terrain with soft damp ground and my tractor is able to pull the rake with a full load that the rake was not capable of handling for any length of time. The u channel twisted severly, the rake was never intended for that type of use, but I did not know that at the time. :ashamed:

I was only giving the OP a friendly warning that the rake that he has will not take the work load that his tractor is able to handle. ;)

Once upon a time I bought a 6 foot rake ..brand new one, I hooked it up to my JD 3020 ...and completely destroyed the rake in one day on 6 acres of a 20 acre pasture I was renovating...I took what was left of the rake back to the dealer the next day and he was kind enough to take it back ( I was a good customer ) and he said...I sure wish I had known you were going to use it behind that big of a tractor...It was too much tractor for the rake..I had not done anything to intentionally abuse the rake...and he knew that so I got my money back....I'm just sayin'.............

Man, you guys are tough on rakes! I admit that I use mine to collect debris and redistribute loose soil displaced in tree ripping operations rather than to regrade a farm or move the Sierra Nevadas to Kansas. I use a boxblade for that type of heavy grunt work. Any ground engaging implement like a rake or rear blade with long unsupported arms can be destroyed by shock loads or loads of horsepower.

Here in the land of clay, I use a box blade on my DK45 to move earth (if that's what you want to call it - I have several well-developed expletives for it now....). That said, I have twisted my 8' Tuff-Line rake like a pretzel several times smoothing out the loose stuff. The Tuff Line tine frame is made of 4" box steel, but it is not sprung steel, like a York and the like. Use the draft control, and you should be fine.

I manage my 200 acres of ag land and 200 acres of woods my DK45. That said, I lease the ag lands my farmer neighbor, and maintain all of the roads, including grading, installing culverts, ditching, laying down cobble and gravel, etc. Now that I have an excavator with a dozer blade, I use the tractor less for that stuff. I mow unused pasture and whack the hedgerows when they get out of control too. I help him out by occassionally plowing (2-bottom), discing (10' transport), tedding, raking and baling (square kicker). Yes, a DK75 or 90 would be more suitable for ag, but I wouldn't be able to do the light stuff around the house with that kind of weight and size. Besides, it's too late!
