Fellow Kubota'ers. I am posting this as a cautionary tale....

I was looking into a buying a ZD mower when up popped this search result,

I've use OLX.com before because it is like Craigslist which I use all the time. WOW I thought. I'd better hurry.

I received this reply when I asked if it was still available......

yes it is available
it is in NY at warehouse because i'm in europe
if u want o buy i use DAS shipping company
and bank to bank trasfer
it is like new only few hours
thanks

The "seller" has 4 screaming deals on Kubotas, all that I would love to have,

$9500 for all that awesome machinery....in my dreams!

I post this because I hate scammers and OLX.com will shut them down if enough people report it as a scam. There is a scam link on each page and I would love to shut this scumb bag down.

Have a great Labor Day weekend!

With all due respect, if you honestly thought you were going to buy that mower for $2000, you deserve to be scammed out of your money since you thought you were scamming the seller.

These scams are everywhere. I'm shocked at the people putting ads on CL hoping for the person who posts those ads to contact them after the ad has been flagged. Who in their right mind thinks an ad like that is legit??

No respect due. It was stupid. I personally had not seen scams like this before and just thought I would pass it on in case anybody else happened to be as clueless as me.

sad to say - the scammers will keep posting stuff like this since it works for them. It doesn't have to work everytime, but hey if the overhead is low and works then they are gonna keep doing it as long there are gullible or unsuspecting poeple out there.

I hate the scammers as much as the next person and so far it hasnt happened to me yet but knock on wood.

Did you know, that if you say gullible really slowly, it sounds like giraffe.

Guy in my town just got scammed. He bought 4 snowmobiles for $12,000 from craigslist. They were located in different parts of the coutry and seller would ship them to him. Happened last week. Bye, bye money.

THere is no such thing as a free lunch. If it seems to good to be true, it is. Reason for these cliches, and I confess I have trouble feeling sorry for people who get taken by them - they are obvious.

Using an escrow service can provide protection to the buyer, as well as assurance of payment to the seller, but they can add some expense to a transaction and there are some escrow scams, so one needs to be careful. escrow.com reportedly is one legitimate online escrow service.

My rules:

If it isn't written in proper English and punctuation, it's a scam:mad:

If it isn't local, but requires shipping and/or bank to bank transfer, it's a scam:mad:

If you can't see the whites of their eyes, it's a scam:mad:

I don't know but there must be a lot of them out there or they wouldn't be running so many ads. ;)
