I have a 21hp vtwin Briggs & Stratton that will only run when the chike is on. I have cleaned the carburetor 4 times and it is still doing the same thing. Does anyone have any advice to fix this problem. Will appreciate any help i can get. Thanks

Is there a fuel filter in the gas line anywhere? If it's running with the choke on, it may point to a fuel delivery issue as the extra suction from the choke is helping it get the fuel it needs to run.

Yes it has a new fuel filter and gas is coming out good.

You still have trash in the carb, or a vacuum leak. What occured to cause you to feel the carb needed rebuilt, and what did you find in it when you rebuilt it?

Also, when you say rebuild, did you remove all welch plugs, shafts, etc and put new parts/gaskets in it, or did you just remove the float bowl and give it a localized cleaning?

I did find garbage in the carb. But i have not checked for vacum leak. I have replaced filters,gaskets,o ring,etc. I will check all that you have posted. Thank you for your help. I will see what happens.
