TODAYS SEAT TIME

It sure is. Years ago when I worked for Fairbanks Scales I spent a lot of my time for several years doing equipment installation work in 4 different potato processing plants in the Snake River Valley from Black Foot to Boise. The people I worked with in those plants were all so friendly, straight forward, positive thinking, and helpful I loved going there. I figured it was just the way Idaho was. Way way different than a lot of places I had to go.

gg

Gordon . . . I believe that is why my sister is liquidating and moving to Idaho . . . very well off of a little girl she is . . .

Former Idaho Governor, Butch Otter, is a long time friend. He ran a great state!

Governor Little will as well.

After 6 years, and nearly 500 hours, I've damaged my tractor to the point I had to leave it where it was and walk back... hit a steel T-post hidden in weeds, bucket knocked over some, but it sprung back up enough to snag the trans/hyd fluid line from the trans case to the filter housing and pull it off. 4 gallons of fluid empties out real fast when there's a 1" fitting at the bottom of the case draining it as fast as it can flow. Shut it down and walked to the house. Called the local dealer 7 minutes before they closed for the day, and the guy that sold me the tractor 6 years ago fixed me up with a new filter and bucket of fluid sitting outside for me to pick up. Will have to check it out closely in the morning, change the filter, and fill it up... fingers crossed nothing else is hurt.

I did the same thing with a 3’ long cedar stump that kicked back, drove up through the floorboard, bending the entire floor about 6”, and ripping the hydraulic filters, and dumping all the fluid. The sheet metal was (and still is) a mess. I feel your pain.

I drove over a 2” tree that was already laying on the ground with a skid steer and it broke the tree. Then when I backed up the stob rode around the track and broke the side window out. Maybe we should start an idiot club.

Re:Bad Luck SEAT TIME

Was brush hogging nine years ago, with the V417, backed over a large, long, curved stick. The right rear tire rolled over the stick, causing it to rotate upward, with the end poking through a vent hole underneath:

The stick came up on the backside of the engine, right into the plastic fan blades, breaking them off .

The blades punctured the radiator in several places:

Here it is back from the radiator shop:

It won't happen again!

I bought new blades and reused the hub:

It has almost 1,000 hours on it now and still no leaks from the radiator .

Lol... I dont feel so bad now, I'm likely off the hook for about $100, and I was due for a fluid change anyway... just wasnt planing on doing it in the field, over the hill, in tall grass!

Made my ballast box and back blade slightly lighter by drilling holes to let the accumulated rain water out.
