I augered a few more post holes today... dodging rain showers... started with what will be the new gate post. Freshly cut and peeled today, and about 10' long. Had to use the tractor to put it in the hole, too heavy for me to handle alone. Gate hinge side is about 16" lower than the other side, so a tall stout post is needed. Will also be a corner that makes about a 45* bend.

About a dozen years ago my daughter took a photo of my toddler grandson sitting on my lap on my tractor. We're looking up at the puff of blue exhaust smoke (I guess it's rings or maybe valve stem seals, but he really liked it).

So, since I replaced the tractor recently, we just recreated the photo yesterday -- same spot, same pose. Except this time he's a teenager looking at the camera with a "what's wrong with Pop Pop" expression.

I have been harvesting more rocks.

Pallet forks forks make a decent trenching bucket. And for removing more rocks.


Making progress on ditch for french drain.

Tractor has not been in the shed since last fall when lots of rain turned that area in to a mud pit.

Sunny 70* out today, another nice day...

I finally found time to till my raised back garden,

With that done, I got the mower out and mowed the grass...er weeds, lol

Then it was on to the next project!

He gets some disappointed when they leave in the fall. Last year he was out on "medical disability" after trashing both rear knees in a work related injury, but the year before he kept checking the pen for a week, in case they had somehow come back.
