TODAYS SEAT TIME

Recent seat time was only backing up and pulling forward a few inches to assist in putting the rear weights on a holdover M7040 Kubota I found last year and haven't used much since. While the Harbor Freight "shop crane" engine hoist makes the job easier, it's still a workout putting weighs on, especially the first set. It's time for it to stop raining so we can get on the ground.

I have the wheels in the narrow position so I can get on a trailer and as a result, the weights stick out beyond the tire side. That's not comfortable for me since I now have an increased potential to skin something like the side of a barn or whatever. I clean the shop floor once a year so don't think it's always clean like this.

Ever notice how close in color Harbor Freight Orange and Kubota Orange are? Makes me wonder.

Put the snowplow out in the field till next year. Brought in the mower and took off the covers and belts for a pressure wash and cleanup. Will change the blades and lube it all up. Still have the snowblower on so not tempting the snow gods!

I went up into my field and brought my old Dearborne harrow out so that I can tune it up.

Those 250$ Chinese forks earned their keep today, otherwise I would have taken the winch off, put the harrows on, drive them 1/4 mile to take them off then go put the winch back on.

Any kind of forks can be useful.

This reminded me of one of the many times I had to really laugh at my self. I used to do just what you said to bring down equipment from the back field storage place for maintenance. Jockey stuff back and forth on the 3 pt hitch. What a pain. Especially the sickle bar mover which can be a bear to mount and dismount from the 3 pt hitch. Then one day it dawned on me to just go up there with a set of chains and bring whatever down on the bucket hooks - Duh...

Not today, but Friday. Got off work at noon and went home to get some stuff done during one of the few non-rainy days for the last week. Picked up some walking stones from the lower yard by the walkout basement and moved them up to the fenced in yard side of the sunroom, which has been a mudfest for a few weeks now. Getting things cleared out and fenced off for the retaining wall rebuild this month.

Tractor could use a bath already.

 Because it won't pass a white glove test??

My tractor could use a bath. I leave mud streaks driving in the snow when it gets up to the axles. :p

We got 10" over the weekend, and it's snowing again today. I'll be plowing tomorrow or Wed when I go up to the woods. C'mon SPRING!

Nah, cab glass is so dirty it's hard to see with the sun at bad angles. Besides, everyone else's tractors look so nice and clean.

I do similar with my grapples. Pick up log, in the middle, chain saw off rounds from both ends. Then drop log and grab it on one end and finish cutting.

It's amazing how much dirt a picture can hide.
