TODAYS SEAT TIME

   / TODAYS SEAT TIME #6,171
Seat time today was on the electric EZGO golf cart spraying fence rows (10 gallon sprayer with wand) and road sides on either side of a dangerous intersection. KY road department have mowed about 10 feet of the right of way and only once. With all of the rain the brush, johnson grass, tall weeds have made seeing cars, deers, etc much harder this year. I think we have had more rain this July than I ever remember. Wednesday AM the AC was out at the office so I took off and mowed the swampy bottoms around the church and we have had 6" of rain since Wednesday starting about 7 PM. Those places are standing in water now and on the soft side when I bush hogged Wed AM. A 10K pound 2WD tractor in a swampy area can get dicey but was raised driving a tractor in swampy places. The key is to keep moving and manage traction with the lift before the sod gives away.

Got a couple hours in on the brand new B2601 moving big pile of chips around all over a neighbor's property. One FEL >> many wheelbarrows...

Spent half an hour riding the property with my tractor buddy surveying the progress of cutting the timber. Sally riding.jpg

Mowed the front yard with 3930 and RFM. Wanted to do the graveyard too, but had to get ready for work before I got down there.

3 hours on the F725 at the farm yesterday: Wildlife 2016 737.JPG

And another hour today at home!

Grnspot, looks like you are doing some offroading there. Those front mounted mowers, JD, Kubota, Ventrac, are the cat's meow.

another hour rototilling around what's left of the sunflowers. Deer have eaten at least half of them, they are up at the far end of this pic.
Over a thousand planted one at a time. Not doing that again...next year I'll plant some mammoth sunflowers inside my orchard.
Unless deer can fly, and if so, I'll be sitting fat and happy with a pic of that..., my ten foot orchard fence should defeat them.

Front mount mowers are great. I can do all kinds of stuff a mid mount can't do. I can get done with a lot less weed eating than I could on the mid mount. The hydraulic deck lift really adds to the usefulness. image-174519848.jpg image-600680499.jpg image-2043304665.jpg

Agree, mowing down brush and cleaning an area up brings satisfaction.

So I'm not the only one? I greatly look forward to Saturday - going out and mowing, bush hogging, or clearing brush.
