Got lazy tonight, used the grapple to move a trailer...

2016-07-05 22.20.34.jpg

By the time I had the trailer turned around and moved it out back it had wedged on nicely! Only took a few blocks under the jack and 2 good hits with a sledge to get it back apart. The time I wasted fetching tools and cribbing I could have swapped attachments back and forth. Too lazy to get out of the seat to unlock the ssqa and I ended up walking around carrying stuff!

I spent about 45 minutes using my rachet rake to clear out some wild parsnip. I only got about 20% of it done and we had a monsoon this evening so I don't know when I'll be able to finish. This is common ground that "everyone owns" from the development.
This stuff was 6 to 8 feet tall. If you break open a stem and let the oil get on your skin, the sun will react with it and can give you 2nd degree chemical burns. Hadn't ever heard of this stuff 10 years ago.

Edit: Sheesh. Never had to work so hard to post a picture. Thanks Tapatalk.

Gordon;
Looks great and that burl should attract plenty of comments.

What material is that on your driveway? I need to build up the surface of my gravel driveway
and that looks like it would be perfect.

It comes from a Pike Industries crusher plant. It is a crushed ledge product they call 3/4" plant mix, basically a mixture of jagged crushed rock from 3/4" down to stone dust. Spreads nice and packs hard.

Diesel, I forgot about those pieces you had. They are good.

Lol... I know I've posted that picture before, but was the perfect follow up to yours... *grin*

That stump of wood is priceless.
Crushed stone like that is called Crusher Run or ABC here. Makes a great driveway; just built up a culvert with it.
"hard as rock" really does apply.

Looks like what they call ledge-pack here. Same thing?

Thanks, Gordon! There's a Pike Industries plant just up the road in Hooksett, NH. I'll check
them out. There's also a Brox Industries facility nearby also.
