TODAYS SEAT TIME

well the boater's talents were clearly in the court house and not on his equipment...probably blew his tire due to underinflation and sitting too long, didn't have a proper spare ready to go and didn't have the lug wrench he needed. Maybe he just called BoatUS or something for that, but surely he was not ready for a flat. And I bet without this very capable assistance he would have hurt himself badly mickeymousing around with his existing jack. Actually he is the perfect person to have road service coverage so as not to hurt himself...

hopefully this good deed will be passed forward.

I've already pulled two county mowing tractors out of the ditch out front when they got stuck in the mud.
There but for the Grace of God go us.
You help when you can because it's the right thing to do.
On the water there is a legal requirement to provide aid if one is closest.
On land, well, wouldn't we be grateful if someone helped us? All good. Nice job.

I'm off to mow after the heavy fog and dew has dried.

No pics, but I was cutting in the two large fields in front of the house and noticed a truck/boat stopped in the road/ditch in front of my driveway. Well, lets go over and ask if something is broken. I get over there and the fellow tells me that he blew a tire on the boat trailer. Nice bass boat too. He was in the process of pulling out that little screw type jack that comes with the newer vehicles. I told him that little thing was not going to work on the trailer as it was sitting on the ground in the bottom of a small ditch and would be very unstable. I offered to get my heavy floor jack and he was all for it so I rode back to the house/barn and fetched the jack and some 4x4 pieces for safety sake (I knew that FEL would be good for something someday  ). This thing was sitting at quite an angle half in the ditch and half on the side of the road. Things like that just make me nervous anyway. I slid the jack under the axle and lifted it. He had retrieved the vehicle lug wrench and it did not fit the trailer lugs. Back to the house to get a four way lug wrench. Brought along a four foot piece of pipe to use as a breaker bar too. He got the wheel off while I was looking at the "spare" trailer wheel and pushed on it a bit and told him that thing "might" have 5 or 6 psi in it. Back to the house and put 35 psi in the tire. He got it on and was very appreciative of my help. I told him to keep the four way lug wrench in case he needs it again as I have several laying around in the barn. He just seemed so surprised that someone would stop working (playing on the tractor...lol) and give someone a hand. I'm not bragging or anything like that. I just told him that people have helped me when I was desperate so I like to help others in need, if I can. He still had time to get the boat in the water for some evening fishing. I guess I don't think twice about giving someone a hand. Turns out he is a lawyer and going to stay at a friends lake house and do a little fishing this weekend. Dang, if I had known he was a lawyer... I might not have helped him.....lol :D

I'm with you on helping people out. That's cool you gave him that wrench.

Dieselcrawler I'm impressed you could hear peeps with a tractor running. That indicates three things to me. One, you don't own my godawful loud tractor; two, you didn't have on hearing protection; three, your hearing is worlds better than mine. (Of course three might change due to two.)
Pretty cool to see 'em before you ran 'em over!

1- Tractor is quite quiet at idle, as I throttled back when I saw the nest. 2- I did have hearing protection, always do. 3- I never saw any, only noticed the nest... chick's or momma, but once I killed the tractor, I could hear them all, chicks scattered, momma probly 20 to 30 feet away in the thick brush. Judging by sound, chick's likely no more than 5' from me...

About 6 hours bush hogging the hardest parts of our property. Got to let the pucker muscle rest for awhile now!

Both of those tires had bad weather checking on them and looked very rough. I figured he would probably need the wrench again...and again...and...

Continuing to work on smoothing out the yard.

And pulling out buried treasures to drag over to my rock pile.

That one only stuck a few inches above final grade.
